Dessert with broken wheat

Ingredients
  • Broken wheat - 1 cup - 200g
  • Ghee - 4 tablespoons
  • Jaggery - 2 cups - 500g
  • Salt - 1 pinch
  • Cardamom powder - ½ tsp
  • Roasted cashew nuts - 10 - 15
Instructions
  1. In a pan heat 1 tsp of ghee, and add 1 cup cracked wheat.

  2.  Fry on medium heat for 3 - 4 minutes or until fragrant. 

  3. Add 3 cups of water to a pot and bring to a boil.

  4. Once done, add to the roasted wheat. 

  5. Stir well then cover and simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. 

  6. Add 2 cups of jaggery to a bowl, add a little water and bring to a boil.

  7. When the syrup is ready, set it aside.

  8. Cook the cracked wheat gently until fluffy then add the prepared jaggery syrup and stir well for 2-3 minutes.

  9. Add 3 tsp of ghee.

  10. Stir in kesari until thickens.

  11. Then add a pinch of salt and mix.

  12. Add 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder.

  13. Add 10 - 15 ghee-roasted cashew nuts and stir, turn off the stove after a minute.

  14. Delicious wheat kesari is ready to serve.
