French toast is an easy and healthy recipe made with bread and egg. French toast made with bread soaked in the mixture of beaten egg, sugar, milk, vanilla essence, cinnamon powder and fried in butter. It is also called Bombay toast in our place in Chennai.

Ingredients
  • 4 Bread slices
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 2 tsp Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
Instructions
  1. Select a bowl that is shallow or wide enough to soak the bread and add 1 egg to the bowl.

  2. Add the half amount of milk, cinnamon powder, vanilla, salt, and sugar.

  3. Whisk everything together.

  4. Dip bread slices in egg mixture and spread evenly on both sides.

  5. The mixture is enough for 2 slices of bread, repeat for the remaining slices.

  6. Melt butter in a pan, place bread, and cook on medium flame.

  7. Flip over and cook till golden brown.

  8. Serve hot with honey or maple syrup.
