Ingredients
  • Coconut (grated) - 1 cup
  • Green chillies - 5 / required amount
  • Fried gram -  ¼ cup
  • Ginger - 1 small slice
  • Shallot - 1
  • Tamarind - a small piece
  • Salt - as required 
  • Cooking oil - 1 tsp
 Seasoning
  • Sesame oil - 3 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
  • Urad dal - ¼ tsp
  • Curry leaves - Few 
Instructions
  1. In a pan heat 1 tsp of cooking oil.

  2. Add 5 green chilis and roast on medium flame.

  3. Once done, keep it aside.

  4. In a mixer jar add a cup of grated coconut.

  5. Add ¼ cup of a roasted gram.

  6. Now add a small piece of ginger.

  7. Add 1 shallot and a small piece of tamarind

  8. And then add the required salt. 

  9. Grind once without adding water and now add little water and grind.

  10. Keep it in a bowl and mix with a little water if needed. 

  11. In a frying pan, add 3 tsp of sesame oil.

  12. Heat the oil and add half 1 tsp of mustard seeds.

  13. When the mustard seeds crackle, add ¼  tsp of urad dal and a little curry leaves.

  14. Mix the seasoning with the chutney.

  15. Delicious coconut chutney is ready to serve.
