Murungai keerai poriyal is one of the healthiest South Indian side dishes that goes well with rice varieties, drumstick leaves have a lot of health benefits, although it is easy to cook, it only takes time to separate the leaves from the stems
Separate the leaves from stems, roughly chop the drumstick leaves. Wash, drain and set aside.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, once it pops add urad dal and red chillis.
Add the onions and cook till the onions become translucent.
Add drumstick leaves and saute for a minute.
Sprinkle required salt on it.
Add 2 or 3 tsp of water and cook covered on medium-low flame.
Once the water is absorbed, add grated coconut, mix gently and turn off the flame.
Serve hot with rice.
