Side dish for idli and dosa
In a mixer jar, add 2 tsp roasted gram and 2 tsp grated coconut, 1 piece ginger, and 3 garlic cloves.
Add ½ tsp anise and 2 chopped tomatoes.
Add 1 piece cinnamon, 3 cloves, and little water.
Grind a smooth paste.
In a pan heat 2 tsp of oil.
Add 1 piece cinnamon and 4 cloves.
Add 1 thinly sliced onion, and saute.
Add 3 crushed garlic.
Add chopped green chili.
Now add chopped coriander leaves and required salt.
Add 1 tsp sambar powder and mix well.
Once the raw smell leaves, add coconut paste, and required water to adjust consistency.
Cook covered for 5 minutes.
Finally, add chopped coriander leaves.
Serve hot with Idli/Dosa.
1. While preparing tomato kurma you can grind some cashew nuts along with roasted gram.
2. You can add ginger garlic paste on behalf of chopped ginger and garlic.
3. You can add some mustard seeds and curry leaves along with cinnamon and cloves while seasoning.
4. You can replace the sambar powder with 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, and ¼ tsp turmeric powder.
5. You can add little garam masala powder to enhance the flavor.
