Bhindi Fry is a crispy side dish that goes well with rice. It is made with okra, masala powders, rice flour, and gram flour. Okra fry is a Punjabi special dish. There are different variations in the okra fry recipe, but it is commonly made with basen. Okra fry is prepared with sooji/rava too, but it is different from traditional bhindi fry.

Ingredients
  • 300 grams Okra
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/4 cup Basen flour
  • 2 tsp Rice flour
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil for frying
Instructions
  1. Rinse and dry okras, and cut it into thin slices.

  2. Once done add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 2 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, and required salt.

  3. Mix well and add 2 tsp rice flour and 1/4 cup basen and Combine.

  4. Add 2 -3 tsp of oil if required and coat well.

  5. Heat oil in a pan for frying.

  6. Fry okras on a medium-high flame, and stir occasionally.

  7. Fry till it turns crisp and golden.

  8. Drain off & serve hot.
