Veg Fried Rice | Fried Rice with Jasmine Rice | Fried rice with sticky rice

Veg Fried Rice is a quick easy and tasty dish that goes well with gobi manchurian, aloo gobi or any other gravy or curry. There are different recipes for fried rice, I followed the basic method of Indochinese cuisine.

Fried rice is made with cooked rice, soy sauce and vinegar and added with vegetables such as onions, shallots and garlic. For better taste, sesame oil is used for fried rice, you can also use cooking oil or vegetable oil.

Variations

  • I have used jasmine rice/sticky rice for making fried rice, you can use basmati or regular white rice.
  • You can add any of your favourite vegetables like beans, peas, or cauliflower.
  • Either leftover white rice or freshly cooked rice suitable for fried rice. Cooldown the rice completely before use.

How to cook Jasmine Rice?

For 1 cup of rice, use 2 cups of water. Add water to a bowl bring it to boil, add washed rice, cook covered for 15 minutes on medium flame/pressure cook for 2 whistles.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups Cooked rice
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 2 Garlic pods
  • 1 cup Green onion Chopped
  • 1 Carrot
  • 2 Capsicum
  • 1 tsp White pepper
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tsp Vinegar
  • Salt as needed
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in the pan, add chopped garlic and fry for a minute.

  2. Add chopped green onion and cook for a minute.

  3. Add julienned carrot and capsicum and cook on a high flame for 2 minutes.

  4. Add salt, white pepper, soy sauce, and vinegar and mix them.

  5. Add the cooked rice and sprinkle with a little oil and stir until the rice is well coated.

  6. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
