The doughnut is a delicacy from the West. Although it is found in the West, it is slowly gaining popularity in India at the present time. It is usually liked by children. Eggless glazed doughnuts can be easily made at home. 

  • Add yeast and sugar in warm water, yeast will not activate if the water is hot or cold.
  • If desired, add an egg to the dough while kneading.
  • Knead the dough well for 6 to 8 minutes so the doughnut will become soft.

Ingredients

  • Water – 300ml
  • Yeast – 1
  • Sugar – 1 tsp
  • Maida  – 2 cups/300 g
  • Butter – 1/4 cup
  • Salt – as required 
  • Cooking oil –  To fry 

Glaze 

  • Butter – 100g
  • Powdered sugar – 50g
  • Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
  • Milk – ¼ cup 

Method

  1. Add 300ml of warm water in a bowl and add 1 tsp of yeast and a tsp of sugar.
  2. Glazed Leave it for 10 minutes.
  3. Add 300 grams of maida to a bowl.
  4. Add the required amount of salt to it.
  5. Add a quarter cup of butter and the activated yeast and knead well.
  6. Add more water and knead well for 6 to 8 minutes
  7. Cover with a damp cloth and then leave it for 2 hours. 
  8. After 2 hours knead once again and roll it to a thickness of 1/2 inch.
  9. Place it on a parchment paper or oiled surface to prevent sticking to the bottom and cover again with a damp cloth and leave for 20 minutes.
  10. After 20 minutes cut it with a round lid/cookie cutter and then cut a hole in the middle with a small lid/small cutter.
  11. Now take each donut and place it separately.
  12. Heat oil in a pan.
  13. Put the oil on low heat and now add the donuts one by one.
  14. Flip it frequently until it becomes golden brown.
  15. Once done, drain the oil and set it aside.
  16. Add 100 g of melted butter to a bowl to glaze.
  17. Add 50 grams of powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla essence.
  18. Mix well and then add a quarter cup of milk.
  19. Mix well.
  20. Now add the prepared donut one by one and turn them over with a spoon.
  21. Place it on a cooling rack and let it cool.
  22. Delicious glazed donuts are ready to serve.
