The burger bun is not only soft and tasty but also very easy to make at home. Burger buns require very few ingredients and can be made with maida flour, yeast, sugar and butter. The burger bun can be made in the oven or in a homemade dish without the oven. Enjoy delicious burger buns easily made at home.


Some tips for making soft and fluffy buns 

  • You can make buns in the same way by adding wheat flour instead of maida.
  • Use warm milk to activate the yeast, if the milk is too hot or too low the yeast will not be activated.
  • You can activate the yeast in water instead of adding milk.
  • When adding butter, do not add it immediately from the fridge, add soft butter (room temperature butter).
  • If desired, you can add an egg along with butter.
  • Knead for 10 – 15 minutes while kneading.
  • The bun dough should be soft and light and not as hard as chapati dough.
  • Yeast can be activated by adding the same amount of sugar instead of adding honey.

Soft and Fluffy Burger Bun without Oven/Egg

Ingredients
  • Maida - 2 cups - 280g
  • Milk - 1 cup - 250ml
  • Honey - 1 tsp
  • Yeast - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - as needed
  • Butter - 4 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds - as needed 
Instructions
  1. Add 1 cup warm milk to a bowl.

  2. Add 1 tsp maida with it.

  3. Then add 1 tsp of honey and 1 tsp of yeast with it.

  4. Mix and leave for 10 - 15 minutes.

  5. In a large bowl, add 2 cups of maida.

  6. Add 1 tbsp of sugar to it.

  7. Add the required amount of salt.

  8. Then add 4 tbsp butter.

  9. Add the activated yeast mixture and mix well.

  10. Knead it for 10 to 15 minutes.

  11. Knead well and then put a little oil in the pan and cover the dough and leave for 2 hours.

  12. Once done, knead it again for 5 minutes.

  13. Then roll into small balls.

  14. You can make 7 to 8 burgers for the measurements given above.

  15. If you want to put it on the stove, roll it small.

  16. Then line the parchment paper on a small plate to cook on the stove and place the balls with some space.

  17. Then cover with a cloth and leave for another 20 to 30 minutes.

  18. After 30 minutes, you can see the dough has doubled in size, apply a little milk on it and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

  19. Put a stand in a wide pan and cover it and place on medium heat for 15 minutes.

  20. Put it in a pot and cook on medium heat for 20 to 30 minutes.

  21. To bake, line the baking sheet, put the dough balls, cover and leave for 30 minutes, then apply the milk on top and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

  22. Place in a preheated oven and bake at 400F / 200C for 15 to 20 minutes.

  23. When the bun is ready, take it out and place it on the cooling rack to cool, then apply a little butter on top.
