The potato sandwich is an easy breakfast recipe that provides all the nutrients you need for a day. If it is for an evening snack, serve with coffee or tea, or you can also serve with mayonnaise, tomato ketchup or chilli sauce.
Notes
- Whole wheat and multigrain bread are harder than white bread, but you can use any kind of bread for this recipe.
- Adding carrots, beans and peas are optional, you can prepare masala with potatoes, onion and other spice powders.
- You can use green chutney or ketchup as a sandwich spread to enhance the taste.
- Adding a cheese slice is optional or you can use the grated mozzarella cheese or a slice of processed cheese.
- You can replace the chilli powder with finely chopped green chillis to enhance the spiciness.
- It will stay fresh for up to 4 hours, so it is perfect for kids’ lunch boxes.

- 6 Bread slices
- 1 Potato
- 1/4 cup Green beans
- 1/4 cup Peas
- 1/4 cup Carrots
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 Onion
- Salt as needed
- 1/2 tsp Chili powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala powder
- 3 Cheese slice
- 2 tsp Butter

Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onion and saute for a minute.

Add chopped beans, carrots and peas.

Add salt, chilli powder and garam masala powder.

Add water and cook covered for a few minutes.

Add the cooked potatoes, mix well and mash them with the masher.

Once done, set aside.

In 2 bread slices, spread the potato masala.

Add a slice of cheese to one slice of bread and cover with another slice of bread so the cheese slice will stay in the middle.

Apply butter on the outer side of both slices.

Toast on a medium flame until light brown.

Cut the sandwich and serve hot with ketchup.

3. Add the peas.
4. And the chopped carrot.
5. Add salt, chilli powder and garam masala powder.
6. Add water and bring it to a boil.
7. Cook covered for a few minutes.
8. Then add the cooked potatoes.
9. Mix well.
10. Mash it with the masher.
11. Potato masala is ready.
12. Take two bread slices, spread the potato masala.
13. Add a cheese slice to one bread slice, cover with another slice of bread so the cheese slice will stay in the middle.
14. Apply butter on both sides and toast.
15. Toast till golden colour, cut and serve hot.
