Sprouted Green Gram Curry is very easy to make. It is delicious to eat with idli, dosa, chapati, and bread. Sprouted green lentil is very good for health because it is high in protein, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that the body requires and helps to strengthen the body. Suitable for weight loss and blood circulation. Regular consumption of sprouted green bean salad drinking plenty of water, exercising, walking, and maintaining a healthy diet. 

How to sprout green gram 

  • Green gram should be soaked for 8 to 12 hours.

  • Once finished, strain the water and store it in a colander-style container with holes.
  • Cover it with a damp cloth.
  • Retain it for 3 to 5 days.
  • Every morning and evening, wash it once, then cover it with a fresh layer of wet cloth.

  • The green gram begins to sprout on the first day, and once it reaches the desired size, it can be used in cooking.

 

Some tips to make delicious green gram curry

  • To prevent the loss of nutrients, do not overcook the sprouted green lentil; instead, just boil it for a few minutes.
  • You can optionally add some coconut paste.
  • You can substitute garam masala for curry masala; if doing so, add 1/4 teaspoon.
  • This recipe calls for mixed chili powder (chili and coriander), so if you add regular chili powder, be sure to add coriander powder as well.
  • You can adjust the amount of ginger garlic paste and garam masala to suit your preferences, or you can leave them out entirely.

Ingredients

  • Green gram – ½ cup – 100g
  • Onion – 1
  • Tomato – 1
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Green chilies – 3
  • Coriander leaves – a few
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Salt – as required
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Curry Masala – ½ teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil – 1 teaspoon

Method

Step-by-Step Pictures

  1. In a pan, heat 1 teaspoon of cooking oil. Add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds to the hot oil.

  2. Once the cumin has been roasted, add the chopped onion. After the onions have been slightly fried, season with salt and add 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste, green chilies, and coriander leaves.

  3. After the raw smell of the ginger garlic paste has faded, add a tomato.

  4. Cook until the tomatoes are soft. After the tomatoes have been thoroughly cooked, add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon red chili powder, and 1/2 teaspoon curry masala powder.

  5. Cook the chili powder until the raw smell disappears, then add a little water and bring the masala to a boil.

  6. Add a little water and sprouted green gram.

  7. Simmer for 5 minutes, covered.

  8. The green gram curry is ready.
