Gulab Jamun is commonly prepared with milk, milk powder, mawa, or with store-bought gulab jamun mix. Here I am sharing a recipe that is entirely different from the traditional one. This is also delicious like regular gulab jamun. I made wheat flour gulab jamun with whole wheat flour, sugar, ghee, and little milk powder.
- For sugar syrup do not make it too thick or thin, it should be in medium-thick consistency.
- Soak Jamuns in sugar syrup for 6 to 8 hours or overnight. Wheat flour Jamuns require more soaking time than the regular ones.
- You can adjust the sugar according to your taste.
- Fry Jamuns on the medium-low flame to avoid burning.
- Do not skip the milk powder as it makes the Jamuns soft.
- I have added orange food colour in sugar syrup and it’s optional. You can either skip or replace it with Saffron.
