Halkova is a favourite snack of the 90s children. From petty shops to large stores, it was available at 50 paise and 1 rupee. It is also known by many names like maida burfi, cardamom burfi etc., You can easily make this 90s popular snack with just 3 ingredients.
Some Tips to Make Delicious Halkova
- Use quality ghee to make burfi delicious.
- You can make it with wheat flour in a similar way.
- Knead the flour in the roti dough consistency, if it is loose add a little more flour and knead.
- You can add sugar to your taste.

Simple snack
- Ghee - ½ cup (120g)
- Maida flour - 1 cup (140g)
- Sugar - ¾ cup (150g)
- Cardamom - 3
- Salt - 1 pinch

Add ¾ cup sugar to a small mixing jar.

Add 3 cardamoms and grind them nicely.

Add ½ cup of ghee to a bowl.

When the ghee is hot add 1 cup maida flour.

Put on low heat and fry until raw smell leaves.

If you fry for 8 to 10 minutes you can smell the nice aroma.

Add a pinch of salt and stir for a minute.

Then transfer it to a bowl and let cool.

After cooling, add powdered sugar and cardamom.

Knead the dough.

Spread ghee in a bowl and place butter paper on it if desired.

Then put the prepared burfi dough in it and rub evenly.

Put it in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Then transfer to a plate and cut into small pieces and serve.
