Instant wheat halwa is made with wheat flour, sugar, and ghee. This can be done very easily and instantly, within 15 to 20 minutes. In my annual school holidays, I used to visit my grandma’s house, our grandmother would make halwa each time we went. I still can’t forget the taste of it. It was made with wheat milk like Tirunelveli halwa, but the taste was slightly different from that. It takes more time for traditional halwa, we need to soak and grind the wheat and then squeeze the milk and ferment it, etc. My sister told me this recipe for making instant halwa in less time. I really liked the taste the first time I did it, after that I started doing it more often, here I am sharing the recipe with you.
Some tips to make delicious wheat halwa
- Use good quality wheat flour and ghee.
- Fry the wheat flour in ghee until the raw smell leaves.
- Boil the water well and then add the wheat flour. If not, the flour will not cook properly and may spoil halwa.
- You can adjust sugar to your taste.
- The halwa is perfectly cooked when the ghee separates on the sides and does not stick to the pot.
