Eggless vanilla cake is a light and moist cake and is made with flour, sugar, cooking oil and yoghurt. This can be done using the oven or in a pan at home. This can be used as a basic sponge cake to make layered birthday cakes or served as a snack. Make a spongy eggless vanilla cake and enjoy.

Some tips to make delicious vanilla cake 

  • You can use a round or square pan to make the cake.
  • You can make the cake in the same way by adding wheat flour instead of maida.
  • You can add sugar to your liking.
  • When adding cooking oil add any oil without any strong smell.
  • You can also add the same amount of butter instead of adding oil.
  • If it is to be done in a pan, cover a wide pan and heat over medium heat for 5 minutes, then place a stand inside, keep the cake tin on it and cook covered for 45 to 55 minutes.
  • Instead of parchment paper in the cake pan, you can sprinkle a little maida.

Moist and Spongy Cake without Egg

Ingredients
  • Sugar - ½ cup - 100g
  • Yogurt - ⅓ cup - 80g
  • Cooking oil - ½  cup - 110g
  • Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  • Maida - 1 cup - 140g
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp
  • Baking soda - ¼ tsp
  • Salt - ¼ tsp
Instructions
  1. Spread oil/butter on a 6-inch cake pan and place parchment paper on it. Preheat the oven to 360 degrees Fahrenheit/180 degrees Celsius. 

  2. In a bowl add ½ cup sugar and ⅓ cup yoghurt and mix with a whisk until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Add ½ cup cooking oil, 1 tsp vanilla essence and mix well.

  4. In another bowl place a sieve, and add a cup of flour, 1 tsp baking powder, ¼  tsp baking soda and ¼  tsp salt and sift it.

  5. Gently add the sifted flour into the wet ingredient mixture.

  6. Mix until the batter lifted with a whisk or spatula falls back down into a bowl slowly forming a ribbon.

  7. Now pour the batter into the cake pan.

  8. Place the cake pan in the oven and bake for 40 to 50 minutes.

  9. When the cake is ready, place it on a cooling rack and let it cool.

  10. Frost, once it cools down if desired.
