Bread Cutlet is a quick and easy snack. It is prepared with bread, chopped vegetables, and boiled corn and potatoes. Perfect tea time snack and a good choice for kids’ snacks box. Delicious starter/appetizer for parties and potlucks. Bread cutlet goes well with Indian green chutney, tomato sauce, and mayonnaise.

Notes

  • While preparing bread cutlets either you can cut the bread or grind it down in the mixer.
  • You can use any kind of bread like brown bread, whole wheat bread, honey bread, multigrain etc.
  • You can add your favourite veggies, finely chop and use vegetables.
  • You can add finely chopped green chilis for more spiciness.
  • Adding thin slices of ginger and finely chopped garlic will bring more flavour to the dish.
  • You can deep fry or shallow fry the cutlets.

Ingredients
  • 3 slices Bread slices
  • 3 Boiled potatoes
  • 1/4 cup Chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup Chopped coriander leaves
  • Few Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup Boiled corn
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Crushed pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • Salt as needed
  • Oil for frying
Instructions
  1. Cut and remove the brown borders of the bread and cut it into small pieces.

  2. Mash the boiled potatoes.

  3. Add the bread pieces.

  4. Now add 1/4 cup finely chopped onion, 1/4 cup chopped carrots, chopped coriander leaves, 1/4 cup boiled corn.

  5. Add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp crushed pepper, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, tsp chili powder.

  6. Combine everything well.

  7. Now add the required salt and 1 tsp oil.

  8. Mix well and make a nonsticky dough.

  9. Make small patties.

  10. Roll patties in the bread crumbs.

  11. Fry in medium heat oil for 2 - 3 minutes.

  12. Cook until golden brown.

  13. Once done, drain and keep it in the kitchen paper.

  14. Serve hot.
